Question 1

What is GPS art?

Accepted Answer

GPS art is the practice of creating drawings, text or patterns by recording a running, cycling or walking route that traces a specific shape. The result is visible on GPS tracking platforms like Strava as a picture or message drawn on the map.

Question 2

How do I create Strava art?

Accepted Answer

Use StreetScript to type your message, choose a starting location and route size, then click Generate. StreetScript automatically snaps your text to real streets using OpenStreetMap. Download the GPX file, load it onto your GPS device or app (or import it as a Strava route), then run or ride it: your recorded activity shows the art on the map.

Question 3

Is StreetScript free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, StreetScript is completely free to use. You can generate unlimited GPS art routes and download them as GPX files at no cost.

Question 4

Which GPS devices and apps does StreetScript support?

Accepted Answer

StreetScript exports standard GPX files which are compatible with Strava, Garmin, Wahoo, Komoot, Suunto, Polar, Apple Watch, and any device or app that accepts GPX route files.

Question 5

Can I run or cycle the routes StreetScript generates?

Accepted Answer

Yes — all routes are snapped to real streets using OpenStreetMap and routed for pedestrians, so they follow walkable and cyclable paths. Always check the route before attempting it and follow local traffic laws.
